Patients are brought in through an ante room, and up to four patients at a time stay in the negative pressure room until they can be transferred to a secure location without infecting others. 

There is capacity for ventilators and other critical life support equipment next to each gurney. These units are rapid deployment treatment units to increase ward capacity for established hospitals or the establishment of new wards in a new hospital or clinic configuration in rural or remote areas. This unit may be fitted with ablutions facilities or not as required.
